Overview

Congregation Etz Chaim, a vibrant Dati Leumi community in Bet Shemesh with
approximately 60 member families, is seeking a part-time rabbi to join us after the Chagim
in October 2025. Our diverse congregation, with members from around the world, values
warmth, approachability, and strong halachic knowledge.

We are looking for a rabbi fluent in both Hebrew and English who embodies a moderate
hashkafic approach and is steeped in halacha with leanings toward centrist opinions and
innovation. The role includes delivering inspiring Divrei Torah, providing halachic guidance,
and fostering community connections through emotional support and engaging shiurim,
particularly on Tanach. Additionally, the rabbi will be expected to be available for halachic
inquiries and participate in lifecycle events, offering support during significant moments in
the lives of our members.

We offer a competitive part-time salary of 4,000-5,000 NIS per month, contingent upon
experience and responsibilities. While experience is valued, we prioritize interpersonal
skills, empathy, and a good sense of humor. We encourage applications as soon as
possible, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Shabbat following interviews.
If you’re passionate about serving a welcoming community that supports one another, we
invite you to apply and help us grow together!
