Overview

The Congregation of Israel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer to function as our Student Assistant Rabbi. The Assistant Rabbi is responsible for assisting the Rabbi in congregational spiritual matters. The position will:

·         Assist with beginners/learners Shabbat and High Holiday services

·         Occasionally assist with weekday services

·         Assist with Prayer services

·         Assist with Torah/Bible Studies

·         Help in Social Justice engagement

·         Assist with community engagement events and programs

·         Other duties as assigned

The Congregation of Israel is a small synagogue located in the City of Detroit. We are a diverse community where people of many different faith-backgrounds, Jewish, Christian, others come together to pray and learn. Our cross generational multi-dimensional assembly of worship offers:

·         Shabbat services

·         Weekly services

·         Torah/Bible study

·         Social Justice Involvement

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate who is warm, kind-hearted, team-oriented, and driven to help grow our congregation. A successful candidate will possess keen attention to detail, follow-through skills, will demonstrate dependability, and regularly show initiative.

May be an ideal position for somebody who is local to Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan. We are able to offer a small modest stipend.

Position Start Date: July 26, 2021
Salary Range: A small Stipend is available.
