Overview

Purdue Hillel is looking for a High Holiday services leader for 5778.  The numbers of student will range from 25 – 75 with the higher numbers being at the evening services.  I am not sure what we’ll get on Yom Kippur. This is the first time we are holding services on campus on a Shabbat.

What we are looking  for in terms of services:  Erev RH, morning and evening on 1st day and Yom Kippur, Kol Nidre, morning, afternoon, Yizkor and Ne’ela.  No real sermons, but short d’vars on the prayers and Torah readings.   Looking for a conservative egalitarian service, we use the Silverman machzor, but have used a supplemental booklet in the past for certain parts of the service..

Travel and meals plus honorarium.   We have about $2,500-3000 plus about $500-600 for travel.  I do have some flexibility, but not much. Hopefully the person will take home hospitality and will drive/ride.  I can find a place to stay nearer to campus if necessary.  The hotel on campus is booked as it is a football weekend on Rosh Hashanah.
