Overview

Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center (PJTC), a congregation of 425 households nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains in Los Angeles, seeks a Rabbi to co-lead High Holiday services with its Cantor.  The position will include both officiating and delivering sermons.

Timing Expectations: This position is only for High Holidays 5785 (Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah Days 1 and 2, Tashlich, Erev Yom Kippur, and Yom Kippur day). The Rabbi will be expected to coordinate preparations for the High Holiday services with the Cantor well ahead of the chagim in October, and at least by Sept 1, 2024.

Qualifications:

Experience officiating High Holiday services and delivering sermons for a mid-size progressive Conservative or similar congregation.  Smicha may be from any Jewish denomination.

Position Start Date: October 2, 2024
Salary Range: $10,000-$13,000, plus lodging and travel expenses if necessary
