Overview

We are seeking an inspirational, resourceful, and outstanding
practitioner to lead this exciting and developing area of school life,
with opportunities to create and enhance Jewish life and learning of
the largest Jewish school in Europe.

Principal responsibilities will include:

· To have oversight of the formal taught elements and informed
elements of Jewish Education, maintaining and further developing high
standards of excellence from students and staff and encouraging
opportunities to build academic strengths.
· Ensure Modern Orthodox Jewish teaching and practice continue to be
integrated into the day-to-day life of the School.
· Providing a Jewish perspective in wider matters of School curriculum
including PSHE, larger developmental academic and non-academic
projects, school trips, school-wide events, community projects and
liaison and day to day school matters.
· To liaise with the Deputy Head responsible for the delivery of PSHE
and the teaching of British values/culture to raise excellence and
understanding of these matters by the student body, overseeing the
liaison and representation on behalf of the School with external
organisations (communal and non-communal).

The school is currently reviewing its Jewish Studies curriculum and
the newly formulated vision and values from which this review was
conceived can be found on our website.

The School achieves excellent examination results within a welcoming
inclusive and warm, caring family environment. This year JFS was the
top totally non selective school in the country for ‘A’ level results
and third in the league tables for GCSE. Students are aspirational
with a thirst for learning and staff are committed and inspirational.

JFS was re-accredited with Investors in People status and achieved the
Gold Award. We have also been awarded Investor in Careers status and
the Challenge Award of the National Association for Gifted and
Talented Students (NACE).

Our modern campus has superb facilities and is on a 26-acre greenfield
site, with easy transport links.
