About The Boston Synagogue
The Boston Synagogue located in the West End of downtown Boston is looking for a Rabbi-in- Residence to serve as a team member at this small, unaffiliated/post-denominational egalitarian, pluralistic synagogue that is also very informal and unpretentious. Since the pandemic we have been running services hybrid: in-person and it’s also available to members on Zoom.
The shul is conveniently located in Charles River Park, down the street from Boston Garden and near Mass General Hospital. It’s near the Science Park Green Line T, North Station – as well as the Charles Street Red Line T/Mass General. Parking is available.
Our mission is to serve the needs of the diverse group of Jews living in downtown Boston, and try to find ways to make engagement, interactivity and connections happen. We look for ways to engage with diverse multigenerational demographics ranging from singles, couples, young people, older members, interfaith couples, LGBTQ, and more.
Aside from the spiritual piece, we also offer a range of educational, social and cultural programs. We are evolving into a cultural hub in downtown Boston, particularly focused on the diverse Jewish and Hebrew music experience and are the home of the Boston Festival for New Jewish Music, Klezmer Jams, and more.
