Overview
We are looking for an Interim Rabbi for our Conservative congregation for a year beginning July 2024. During this time, we will be searching for a full-time Rabbi to begin in July 2025.
The ideal interim candidate will lead services along with our lay leaders, deliver sermons, participate with students in our pre-school and religious school, provide adult education, be involved with life cycle events, and provide pastoral care to congregants.
Located in Annapolis, Maryland, on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, Kol Shalom is within an hour drive of Baltimore and Washington, DC. We are the result of a merger of two Conservative congregations 16 years ago and are proud of being a small (125 families), egalitarian, warm, inclusive, friendly, participatory community.
Although like many congregations, many of our members are seniors, our growth comes largely from young families due to our vibrant Tree of Life Preschool, a nature-based program that is now in its 10th year that has an extensive wait list.

About Congregation Kol Shalom of Annapolis
What distinguishes our community is the level of member participation; we are largely a do-it-yourself group, from our team of lay leaders at services to individuals who see needs and fill them, whether it means moving chairs, straightening the kitchen, finding guest speakers, leading study groups, guiding visitors to parking spaces, building a sukkah, helping with our youth groups, or volunteering at our schools.
