Yom Kippur Day Yizkor Service & Neilah Service
Two High Holy Day Family Services
Work with Cantorial Soloist to select liturgy
Distribute honors to Board members
Distribute honors to Bar/Bat Mitzvah students of past year
Shabbat Services
One Friday night service per month, October through June
Plan liturgy for each service
Prepare a d’var Torah, sermon, or other activity for each service
Religious School
Advise and support Religious School Director in areas including, but not limited to hiring, curriculum and textbook choice.
Regular attendance at religious school sessions to include scheduled office hours
Teaches confirmation/high school class – once/month
B’nai mitzvah family class(es)
Life Cycle Events
Spiritual leadership, community building and pastoral support to congregants throughout the year
Officiate, as needed, at weddings, funerals, bar/bat mitzvahs (15-20/year; paid by family)
(remuneration is made by the family as arranged privately with the rabbi)
Baby namings – generally held during Shabbat evening services
Additional Events & Tasks
Adult Education – Work in conjunction with the Adult Ed Committee to plan adult education sessions quarterly
Passover Seder – Lead annual second night Seder
Participate in community annual interfaith Thanksgiving service
Attend meetings of the board of trustees which are held approximately 4 times/year
Contribute d’var Torah/parsha message to monthly e-newsletter to congregants
Regular meetings with cantorial soloist to review and expand musical programs
Partner with Temple Administrator to construct annual calendar of all TM religious events and coordinate with the church administrator
