Our Core Values

Living a Jewish life is unique to each person. Some come with lots of background while others are just returning. There is no one correct way to live an “authentic” Jewish life; that belongs to the individual. One may choose to participate in a musical Kabbalat Shabbat (Friday night) with an Oneg (Dessert and coffee gathering) Shabbat (Saturday) with a full Kiddush (wine, challah, and small lunch), and any of our holiday services in order to learn and grow.

TBE, the Friendly Temple, offers Hebrew and cultural classes, transliterated copies for Kabbalat Shabbat, prayers and songs so all can participate, and a history of our traditions that have been passed down for thousands of years.

Community and Inclusivity

We are a safe and loving family that supports and lifts each other through the ups and downs of life. It is because of this commitment to all human beings that we have been able to confidently call ourselves The Friendly Temple that embrace all that walk through our synagogue doors.

Spirituality

We love our traditions that awaken our neshamot (souls) which allow us to connect with G-d.

Growth

We believe in education and being open-minded. While maintaining our traditions, we are amenable to learning from others and trying new ideas.
