Overview
Temple Beth Am is a vibrant, liberal congregation serving multiple and diverse communities. We are a warm, welcoming, and deeply caring community. We espouse four key values: learning, prayer, family life and solidarity with Israel. It is our hope that our new Rabbi will have the vision that Temple Beth Am truly is a House of the People.
We have a warm and welcoming atmosphere, accepting all interfaith families. We have a serious commitment to Jewish practice and learning, as well as a strong continuing education program (Friday Speaker’s Series, Monthly Torah Study, Endowed Lecture Series, Adult Hebrew Classes). We have a supportive and caring community responsive to our congregant’s needs. We are fortunate to have outstanding musical enhancement to our services, including a talented choir and accomplished Music Director (composer, pianist, soloist). We have an outstanding religious school led by an enthusiastic and talented director, as well as an active Friendship Club (over age 55).
The ability to relate to people of all ages within a diverse community, and work comfortably with all age groups.
A Rabbi who is inspirational, and approachable.
Serious lifelong student of Judaism.
The three most important priorities of our rabbi should be:
Be empathetic with an understanding of the spiritual needs of our congregation.
Ability to attract and retain new members.
Recognizing and responding to the need for our congregation to be relevant and innovative and to remain at the cutting edge of Reform Judaism.
In the new journey Temple Beth Am is about to embark, we need a rabbi who will provide direction, and encourage our members to continue to participate in activities, and leadership roles.
