Someone who can complement member-led services in areas of liturgy, singing or wisdom. The position affords ample time for jointly developing services with co-leaders and for becoming acquainted with the congregation.

Shir Hadash uses Reconstructionist liturgy in the series Kol Haneshamah. We hold approximately 1 service a week. Half our services are led by members, with occasional guest leaders. The other half are held in conjunction with a Reform synagogue. For High Holidays services, we hold our own services.

Community Description:

* We are discerning older adults (median age over 70).
* We like actively participating, e.g., singing along or discussing the d'var Torah.
* On the dimension for service content of novelty versus tradition, we're in the middle.

Shir Hadash is a havurah of 70 households. This past year, with attendance limited to members and immediate family, 85 people attended High Holidays. Services were conducted in-person. Services were transmitted via Zoom and about a dozen people attended them.
