About Redeemer Health

About Redeemer Health
At Redeemer Health, we are dedicated to providing all those who come through our doors with compassionate, high-quality care that goes beyond medical treatment. As a Catholic Health System rooted in the tradition of the Sisters of the Redeemer, we Care, Comfort, and Heal following the example of Jesus, proclaiming the hope God offers in the midst of human struggle.

Community Resources & Support
Redeemer Health is more than a health system – we are a haven that provides hope and strength to many vulnerable individuals and families. Our calling to care, comfort, and heal extends to our community through the many programs and resources we provide.

Our History
Throughout its long, 95-year history, Redeemer Health has been committed to helping people of every age and social station. One of the Sisters' earliest ministries was caring for the sick in their own homes – a ministry that continues to grow today through Redeemer Health Home Care and Hospice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

From its modest beginnings, the Sisters' mission to care, comfort, and heal continues to grow through the many programs, services, and facilities that comprise Redeemer Health. With a long-held commitment to older adults, the Sisters built St. Joseph Manor in 1934 on a 45-acre farm in Meadowbrook, PA. In later years, the Sisters established Redeemer Village (1982) and acquired Holy Redeemer Lafayette in 1992.

Ever sensitive to the healthcare needs of the growing community, the Sisters built Holy Redeemer Hospital in 1959. Today, the hospital is one of the area's most trusted community hospitals, offering high-quality care delivered with compassion and respect.

Touched by the plight of Philadelphia's homeless women and children, in 1987 the Sisters founded Project Rainbow, known today as the Drueding Center. To date, this renowned transitional housing program has helped hundreds of families on the road to independence and self-sufficiency.

Our Vision
Redeemer Health is a community-based, integrated health care delivery, social service delivery, and financing system sponsored by Redeemer Ministries. In a caring and compassionate manner, we create innovative programs and services to enable people to live their lives to the fullest. Through our all-encompassing Health Care, Home Care, and Life Care services, we are here for our community through every stage of life to provide care that knows no bounds.
