Overview

We are looking for a part-time rabbi to partner with our cantor in a small but active Reform congregation of 75 members in Nassau County, NY.

Qualifications

We are interested in talking to candidates who are experienced, ordained rabbis with pulpit experience. Our congregation is older – mostly empty-nesters and older singles – and we no longer have a religious school. We have an experienced cantor and want to provide her with a Bimah partner. Ideally, the candidate would be available for most Shabbat services, festivals and High Holidays, and perhaps alternate with the cantor conducting weekly Torah study sessions. We would also like the rabbi to conduct classes periodically.

We have a limited number of life cycle events due to our small size and the lack of a religious school, but we have an enthusiastic membership who support our events.

This is an ideal opportunity for a retired rabbi, or for one who holds another part-time position in some aspect of Jewish education but would also be interested in a part-time pulpit.
