Overview

Seeking an experienced Chazan/it to lead services for Shemini Atzeret/Simichat Torah at Plainview Jewish Center, a Conservative Egalitarain Congregation. Duties include leading Ma’ariv for a small minyan on Shemini Atzeret evening, leading Shacharit, Hallel, Torah Service, Yizkor and Musaf (including Geshem) for Shemini Atzeret morning, leading Ma’ariv and Hakafot for Simchat Torah evening (in collaboration with our house band), leading Shachrit, Torah service, Musaf and Hakafot on Simchat Torah morning. Applicant should be comfortable with using instrumental music on Yom Tov. Will provide housing and meals if requested.

Qualifications:

Will consider invested Cantor, Cantorial or Rabbinical Student, Rabbi or qualified, musically adept layperson.
