Assistant Rabbi Opportunity

Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Health is a not for profit, a nonsectarian geriatric center which is part of a group of long term care affiliates under the brand name of RiverSpring Health. RiverSpring Health provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.  Collectively, RiverSpring Health empowers over 12,000 patients, residents, and members to live forward every day. Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Health is looking for a full-time Asst. Rabbi to join our Religious Affairs Department.

The successful candidate must be ordained by an accredited Rabbinical Seminary and have completed one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Unit and/or equivalent pastoral training. College or University degree required. Related experience working with the elderly and/ or in an applicable religious environment preferred. Ability to speak in public and to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to small and large groups is required. Microsoft proficiency and other applicable software knowledge required. The ability to speak, read and write English and Hebrew required.  Ability to incorporate music and song to enhance services preferred.

Qualifications:

The position of the Assistant Rabbi is to support the Director of Religious Affairs in all aspects of the department. This position will be an integral part of the department and will coordinate or conduct Synagogue Services on Weekdays, Shabbat and Jewish Holidays as well as manage assigned tasks within the Religious Affairs Department. This position will serve the spiritual, religious and pastoral needs of Jewish and non-Jewish residents alike. The Asst. Rabbi will serve in the capacity of pastoral counselor as a resource and guide for residents as well as other members of the Hebrew Home Family such as staff and residents’ family members.
