About Steamboat Springs, Colorado:
Steamboat is best known by skiers for its legendary Colorado powder. However, our town is so much more than that. Unlike most other Colorado ski resorts, the town of Steamboat Springs was incorporated in 1900 and our town thrives independently of the local ski resort. We have a population of approximately 13,000 and support 5 public schools as well as a charter school and 2 private schools. The public school system is considered one of the best in Colorado. With the dawn of remote work Steamboat is poised for further growth. We are known as a relaxed unpretentious town with a laid-back western vibe. In addition to full time residents, we have many seasonal part-time residents, visitors and vacationers. We have friendly locals, special events, ongoing festivals, great food and multiple cultural institutions. There is a saying that people come to Steamboat for the winters, but stay for the summers. We have recently achieved distinction as one of the best small towns to visit and one of the best towns to retire to. Additionally, Routt County (which includes Steamboat Springs) is among the top 10 healthiest counties in the US according to US News rankings. Several members of our Jewish community are business owners and many members are actively involved in a variety of civic, charitable and social organizations that support and better our community.
