Overview
As our spiritual leader, our next rabbi will be a thoughtful, learned and intelligent individual who will
possess passion and vision to inspire, guide, teach, and support our existing membership and attract
new members. We would like a rabbi who espouses a post denominational, experiential, and
motivational Judaism. It is essential that our next rabbi be an effective leader, working with our lay
leaders, clergy team, and professional staff to realize the full potential of our synagogue as the voice
of Judaism on the East End of Long Island.
Our next rabbi must inspire and engage the younger families in our congregation and
community, to establish and foster a deepening connection to Judaism and the Jewish
Center of the Hamptons as the center of their Jewish lives.
Our new rabbi must possess in-depth Jewish knowledge to teach adult learners at all levels.
Our next Rabbi should build connections and relationships with all members, thereby
strengthening congregational relationships and inspiring commitment, dedication and
support of the work of our congregation within our membership, the greater community,
Israel and Am Yisrael, and to the same end be an active participant in fund-raising for the
congregation.
Qualifications:
The rabbi should be dynamic and invigorative – inspiring our congregation to prayer, a
sense of community, and a call to create a vibrant Jewish culture in the Hamptons.
The rabbi should engage young people and young families, encouraging membership,
attendance at services, and inspiring a meaningful and enthusiastic sense of what it means
to lead a Jewish life and participate fully in our community.
Our next rabbi should recognize the ties and advantages of our diverse membership,
building a connected community that transcends geographic diversities, striving for
excellence in serving the spiritual, intellectual and pastoral needs of all our members and be
an active participant in fund-raising for the congregation.

Our members come from many different Jewish backgrounds, yet when we join together as a synagogue family in one place that provides the natural beauty to inspire transformative moments on our Jewish journey, we are one community. Our unusual membership includes many highly successful congregants, including leaders of finance, the law, and medicine. Many other members are noted artists, writers, art collectors and musicians. This exciting mix makes our synagogue a truly unique opportunity for a Rabbi looking to be a part of an intellectually and culturally stimulating community.
