Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Jewish Enrichment & Engagement leads an initiative to ensure that Jewish wisdom, teachings, and values are understood by program and administrative staff and can be incorporated into our approach to care (where it can enhance service delivery) across the agency’s services and administrative departments. S/he will provide training to staff of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, such that they can participate in the discussions with minimal (or no) prior Jewish education, background or exposure. Additionally, s/he will develop, implement and coordinate clergy training programs for the external (and potentially internal) community utilizing JSSA staff as faculty. Moreover, this role is counted upon to be a point person in the external faith community to ensure that JSSA is understood to be a place where we live Jewish values. S/he will maintain strong relationships between JSSA and key contacts in the community including Rabbis, Cantors, Executive Directors, Washington Board of Rabbis, etc. As a member of JSSA’s Senior Management Team, s/he will contribute to setting overall strategy and direction for the agency.
- A Master's Degree in Jewish Education or Rabbinic Ordination and additional formal training in Social Work, Nursing or Public Health highly preferred.
- Ability to connect with Jewish and non-Jewish staff in a myriad of approaches.
- 3 years of proven program development, management, and coordination experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking abilities.
- Knowledge of Jewish community and a proven ability to work with a broad range of constituencies within the Jewish community.
