Overview

The Director of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) will provide pastoral ministry in a manner which exemplifies the philosophy, mission and values of Pastoral Care Services of BHSF. The Director will act as educator, counselor, advocate-mediator, and religious and spiritual guide. The Director is held accountable to the highest level of professional ethics and moral conduct as a spiritual leader within Baptist Health South Florida and related communities. The Director will assist the AVP for Pastoral Care in the implementation of all programming in accordance with the statements of mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Pastoral Care and BHSF. The Director will be responsible for the development and the fiscal management of his/her cost center’s annual budget. The Director is responsible for the development and maintenance of a fully accredited clinical pastoral education program under the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). S/he develops curriculum, supervises students’ clinical work, provides educational opportunities, and evaluates student performance. The Director will develop and maintain a community based curriculum and training program in support of Pastoral Care’s and BHSF’s community, congregational, and faith-health initiatives.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
Required Degrees: Master’s of Divinity – MDIV.

Licenses & Certifications: Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisory Certificate;
Additional Qualifications: Ministerial/Ecclesiastical Ordination or commissioning in good standing. Ecclesiastical Endorsement in good standing at all times while employed by Baptist Health South Florida. Supervisor or Associate Supervisor status with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) in good standing.
Minimum Required Experience: 3 years.
