Congregation Kneses Tifereth Israel (KTI) is located in Port Chester, NY. Serving the Westchester County and Greenwich, CT Jewish community, we are an egalitarian, progressive congregation that is presently seeking an interim Rabbi for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

As we continue our search for a full-time rabbi, we are seeking an insightful, dynamic leader to lead our congregation during this year of transition.

Major areas of responsibility for the Rabbi include:

  • Act as the religious and spiritual leader of the congregation. Lead Shabbat and holiday services, and officiate at life cycle events.
  • Partner with our full-time Cantor (who is also our Religious School Director) to develop educational and social programming
  • Encourage active participation of current members with particular emphasis on young families and empty nesters.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to potential members, including interfaith and converts
  • Work cooperatively with our Religious School Director to enhance our religious school and support our b’nei mitzvah students
  • Provide pastoral and spiritual support to the sick, elderly, and congregants in need
  • Offer advice and counsel to the Board of Directors
  • Work cooperatively with and provide daily oversight of KTI staff to ensure smooth functioning of congregational activities.

Qualifications:

1.    Ordination from a recognized rabbinical school
2.    Conservative pulpit experience preferred
3.    Comfortable leading diverse congregations
4.    Experience leading organizations through transitions preferred
