Immediate opening for a Cantor or Cantorial Soloist at an active Reform congregation on the South Jersey Shore

We are looking for a Cantor, Cantorial soloist or lead music director/songleader for Erev Shabbat services, occasional Shabbat morning B’nai Mitzvah, and some holiday services.  This position is open immediately, from now until the end of June.  (We will also be looking for a permanent part-time person beginning July 1, including all services mentioned above plus High Holy Days.)

The position is part-time; services and preparation for services only.

Qualifications:

Cantorial experience or experience leading the music at services in a liberal Jewish setting.

Some knowledge of tradition and the history of Jewish music, especially in a Reform setting, and familiarity with contemporary trends in liberal Jewish music.

Ability to work well as a team player with the rabbi and other staff members.

Position Start Date: February 10, 2023 or later; we will also be looking for an ongoing position beginning July 1, 2023
Salary Range: Depends on qualification and experience
