About Congregation Beth Elohim

Mission, Vision, and Values

Our Mission

Congregation Beth Elohim is committed to fostering an open, diverse community that acts as a place for spiritual development, as well as the celebration of Jewish culture and values. As an independent congregation, we forge a unique balance between preserving Jewish traditions and embracing progressive ideals, creating an environment that is inclusive to all. Our leadership is committed to the personal and spiritual growth of our members, providing guidance and support throughout life's journey.

Our Vision

Guided by the principles of Learning, Worship, and Acts of Loving-Kindness, Congregation Beth Elohim strives to foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that fulfills the ever-changing needs of our Jewish community.

Our Values

In 2021, our Rabbi and Board of Directors asked the community to define the core Jewish values that should help guide our decision-making.  A congregant committee met with the Rabbi over many months to consider which Jewish values accurately reflect the identity and priorities of our community.  We recognize that multiple and competing values are relevant in any difficult decision. The process of considering how these values influence the decision is at least as important as the decision itself.
