Overview
Congregation Beth El, Sunbury, PA, a non-affiliated egalitarian synagogue, is offering a full-time rabbi position to succeed our retiring rabbi. We are seeking a dedicated and creative spiritual and religious leader for our community of diverse Jewish identities and practices.
Congregation Beth El is a welcoming, warm, active, inclusive and supportive congregation where people of all backgrounds and levels of observance participate. The Congregation was established over 100 years ago in 1919 and has been operating continuously with a rabbi since then. Our congregation consists of approximately 65 member households. Our alluring new synagogue was constructed in 2008 by the noted architectural firm Venturi and Associates. The congregational support and relationship we look to develop with our rabbi has, in the past, led to long term relationships with our rabbis (23 years with our current retiring rabbi and 25 years with the rabbi prior). The synagogue services a multi-county area and people living within a one hour drive. Serving such a large geographical area, we are non-denominational to provide for Jews no matter what their level of observance and personal needs. See our synagogue website at www.beth-el-sunbury.org
