Overview

Beautiful historic synagogue in the heart of downtown Chicago seeks High Holiday rabbi who wants to make a difference in our congregant’s spiritual lives.  We have services for multiple denominations during the year; our High Holiday minyan is Conservative with mixed seating and a ritual role for women.  Our three-story sanctuary is well known for the magnificent stained glass that occupies our entire eastern wall; we have been featured in numerous publications, including the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and Jerusalem Post, and have been named one of the Top Ten religious sites in Illinois.

Community Description:

A loyal community of second- and third-generation congregants, all ages, of varying degrees of Jewish knowledge and observance. They will be welcoming and happy to have you join us.

Qualifications:

We need a rabbi with enough presence to fill our space, enough charisma to feel like an old friend to people you've just met, and enough gravitas to give uplifting sermons and commentaries on the prayers in a way that is neither simplistic nor obscure.
