About Center for Jewish Education

The Center for Jewish Education (CJE) is a fully-funded department of the Jewish Federation. The Dallas Jewish community has more than 50 agencies/organizations including Jewish day schools, synagogues, community organizations, Jewish Community Center and a variety of Federation-supported agencies. Dallas is home to approximately 70,000 Jews representing a broad spectrum of Jewish life and identity.

Emerging out of the Department of Jewish Education, the CJE was created in 2004 to lead the Jewish community on issues pertaining to Jewish education, to enrich existing programs and serve as a catalyst for new Jewish educational initiatives in the community. A lay-professional Advisory Committee works with the CJE and its Executive Director.
