Overview

CU Hillel in Boulder, one of Hillel of Colorado’s three impact campuses, is seeking a charismatic rabbi or rabbinic student to lead High Holiday services this fall, 2017/5758 for university students and others at CU Hillel. Responsibilities include leading Rosh Hashanah services on Thursday morning, September 21 (and possibly Friday morning, September 22); Kol Nidre services on Friday night, September 29, and full day Yom Kippur worship on Saturday, Sept. 30.

CU-Boulder’s Hillel is open to all students.  With a Chabad serving the CU campus as well, our students tend to be liberal, secular or conservative-leaning Jews.  Services need to be egalitarian, uplifting and engaging, with ritual in service to joy and community. Students are involved in all Hillel programs, and will wish to be involved here; it is possible that we could enlist student musical/vocal help, as well.  That said, singing ability for our High Holiday leader would be a plus. We expect at least 175-200 students, and will attract some faculty and community members, as well. While Hillel at CU does not have a supervised kitchen, any meat served for holiday meals would be kosher, and all food served is kosher-style.
