Working with the AVP, Learning and Engagement, the Director, Adult Learning will have primary responsibility for planning, directing, and managing the Jewish Learning and Engagement’s initiative in adult and interfaith learning and engagement. This includes evolving our collective communal vision to connect more people to Jewish life, learning, and community by increasing excellence and innovation, decreasing barriers to participation, and creating community.

The Director, Adult Learning will work in collaboration with the Jewish Learning and Engagement’s professional team to develop and implement holistic strategies that will shape and support our efforts with our communal partners. He/she will also work closely with lay leaders as well as professionals within the community, particularly at the institutions with which we partner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work closely with Associate, VP of Learning & Engagement’s team to develop key strategies for adult learning, including increasing content offerings as well as means of participation
  • Articulate and communicate overall vision and programmatic strategy and offerings to multiple audiences
  • Spearhead and maintain new projects, including but not limited to creation of adult learning “online concierge” and building opportunities for a community-wide year of Jewish learning around a particular book, culminating in an author event
  • Along with Associate VP, Learning and Engagement, evaluate current interfaith initiatives, opportunities for integrating into adult learning offerings, and potential areas for future programs
  • Work in close and effective collaboration with the JLE team, integrating and partnering where appropriate
    Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external constituencies to support implementation of strategies
  • Strategize and implement new initiatives arising out of strategic planning
  • Manage measurement outcomes and evaluation of initiatives
  • Coordinate and engage with staff, including other directors, to facilitate and/or participate in inter-department projects
  • Keep abreast and apply as appropriate best practices related to initiative area
  • Actively support efforts to implement CJP’s fundraising by partnering with development colleagues
  • Maintain responsibility for day-to-day operations, grant making, and budgeting for programmatic areas
  • Work closely with marketing to effectively communicate CJP’s goals and vision in this work
  • Represent CJP at a variety of community functions and organizations

Qualifications:

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: MA or equivalent knowledge or experience
Experience: 7-10 years of experience in similar or related position.
