We are a Conservative Egalitarian Congregation serving approximately 125 diverse members.

You will be providing strong leadership in our active community.

– Leading weekly Shabbat services including the reading of the Torah.

– Leading Friday night Shabbat service every second week.

– Principal of our growing Talmud Torah (approximately 25 students) with some teaching hours

– Leading an active Adult Education program several times per week

– An active participant in all community activities

– An active participant in ecumenical programs and outreach to the greater Kingston community.

Qualifications:

Smicha from a recognized institution (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform etc.)

You must be willing to sign an agreement to accept and honor the Halachic rulings of the Rabbinical Assembly and the USCJ.

Position Start Date: August 1, 2018
Salary Range: $75,000 to $125,000 Canadian

Community Description:

Our community is long established and has a remarkable history. The wider community is progressive and affords great opportunity for continuing education and teaching.

We have a well maintained, centrally located synagogue building and mikvah.

Our city is the midway point among Ottawa (the Nation’s Capital – 115 mi., 185 km.), Toronto (the Provincial Capital – 160 mi., 255 km.), Montreal (arguably the cultural capital – 170 mi., 275 km.) and Syracuse, New York (125 miles, 2oo km.).

VIA rail service to all three large metropolitan areas is regular and timely and there is regular air service to Toronto.

There is also a well maintained 4 lane highway system to all centres.

Kingston is a beautiful waterfront community at the nexus of the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario with a vibrant arts, sports, recreation and entertainment community.
