About Har MIshpacha
Har Mishpacha, The Jewish Congregation of Steamboat Springs, is looking for a resident rabbi.
We are a small congregation of approximately 60-member families in a small town high in the Rocky Mountains of Northwest Colorado. Founded in 1983, we have a permanent home at the Spiritual Life Center at Heart of Steamboat United Methodist Church. Many of our families have relocated here from various parts of the country and bring with them their own traditions of religious and cultural observance. Additionally, our congregation includes families of interfaith marriages who seek varying levels of engagement in synagogue life. For a community of our size, we have a robust Religious School with a current roster of 18 students. Most recently, our congregation has been served by a rabbi who visits on 6 weekends annually in addition to the High Holidays. This rabbi is now moving from the area and we have chosen to seek a resident rabbi. We see this as an important next step in nurturing Jewish life and growing our community.
