About Congregation Temple Emanuel
Founded in 1921 in Reno, NV, Congregation Temple Emanu-El is Nevada’s oldest Jewish Congregation. We have a 150+ seat sanctuary, a small Beit Knesset, social hall, library, fully equipped kosher kitchen and three classrooms. The building is on 2+ acres and is undergoing interior renovations. We have no mortgage and no operating deficit.
We have a culturally diverse community with members from Israel, Persia, Russia, South Africa, Turkey as well as throughout the United States. Our members are committed to strong Jewish values, Torah, study, Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael. We have hard working volunteer members – including three retired Rabbis - devoted to actively participating in the synagogue by leading services, reading Torah, giving divrei Torah, teaching classes and preparing kiddush.
